We bought our house five years ago and the garden had four fruit trees, an avocado tree and a few queen palms. For the most part, we had a clean palette to create our garden sanctuary.
Our garden is a mix of many different garden styles and designs. From succulents, drought tolerant plants, hydrangeas, fruit trees, vegetables & herbs, ferns, palms and irises, we’ve created a garden retreat for our family and friends.
My love for hydrangeas has resulted into an entire bed of them, in which I named “Penny Lane” in honor of Penny McHenry (Founder of the American Hydrangea Society) and includes pink, purple and blue blooms.
We compost, and recycle where we can to have a sustainable, organic garden. Our latest addition is a modern deck with bench seating and a fire pit where we entertain, do yoga and relax. Here, we also enjoy the birds, butterflies, bees and peace & serenity in our garden.
My love and passion for gardening inspired me to create a blog — peaceloveandgardening.com — where I write about our garden adventures, endeavors, and life lessons along the way.
