Welcome to our 100% homeowner-created gardens! Our drought-tolerant front yard began in 2009 with the removal of the lawn after the house remodel. Since then, we have removed the old concrete walks and replaced them with curving paths of “urbanite”. Plants are a combination of California native and Mediterranean plantings in a river rock hardscape. This all has become a favorite for birds, butterflies and neighbors. Some projects remain “in progress”, but isn’t that always the case?
The back yard provides a quiet, shady respite for outdoor dining and entertaining. The eclectic mix of rusty art, composite decking, potted plants, a fountain, and shade sails hoisted up 15-foot copper poles make for something to see.
Many ideas here for “green” savings.
